Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are not just a list of ideas or truth claims; they point to a way of life. The Bible proclaims faith without works is dead, and we are nothing without love. So while it's important to state our beliefs, we truly reveal our identities as followers of Jesus by the extent to which radical love characterizes our lives.

We Believe ...

The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, written by human authors under the direction of the Holy Spirit, and it guides us toward living and understanding truth.

There is only one God, who exists eternally as a Trinity of three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, yet each is distinct from the others.

Uncreated, Jesus entered the world born of a virgin. Fully God and fully man, he was put to death on a cross, was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven. Some day, he will return to bring full restoration and forever reign as King.

God created humans to live in an intimate relationship with him. The first humans rebelled against God, bringing sin into the entire human race, separating them from God.

Jesus' death took the penalty of sin and provides forgiveness and a restored relationship with God for all who trust in him. This is a gift from God received by faith, not earned by good works. Those who receive this gift are eternally united with God, while those who do not receive it will be eternally separated.

There is one universal church, expressed in diverse ways, commissioned by Jesus and energized by the Holy Spirit to expand the Kingdom of God on earth.

The Holy Spirit indwells each follower of Jesus and provides wisdom and strength. He gives spiritual gifts to serve the church and to change the world.

Followers of Jesus are called to live in relationship with God, loving and serving him and people.

Followers of Jesus are called to fully submit to his sovereignty. And, with the help of the Holy Spirit, their lives will be transformed.
