Does God answer prayer? The answer is that just as God has made an open universe contingent upon our action so that things won't be done unless we do them, so he has left certain things open to prayer, things that won't be done unless we pray...So while the spiritual universe is one of law and order, it is an open universe- open to cooperation with God for new things to happen, things that God wants to happen, but can't let them without our cooperation.

Jesus taught us to "pray at all times and not lose heart" (Luke 18:1). We know that losing heart is easy because life is difficult. We also believe that prayer makes a difference. When we pray, sometimes our circumstances change, but almost always our perspective changes because prayer is being in, and experiencing, the presence of God.

We are available to pray for or with you for any situation, including the following:

Physical healing

Emotional distress

Wisdom and clarity

We can assist you with prayer in one of two ways.

Thursday Prayer

A team of men and women who have been trained in prayer ministry are available for one hour appointments to meet with you.  There will always be two people present with you at the Communitas office for your prayer appointment.

On-Line Prayer Requests

We have a team of people committed to pray for requests that are e-mailed to us.

Send your request to prayer@communitasnyc.org.

An Evening of Prayer- August 19

Once a month Communitas meets together in the evening for a time of corporate prayer. We believe that God’s work is always accompanied by people who are seeking him and his power and his guidance. On Thursday, August 19 all interested are invited to join us at the Communitas office at 7:00PM to pray together. Feel free to drop by anytime after 7:00 and stay as long as you are able.
